Commercial Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all commercial activities within the organization, including procurement, logistics, and financial management. This role requires a strong understanding of business operations, market dynamics, and international trade regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement:

1. Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
2. Ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, equipment, and supplies.
3. Manage supplier relationships and resolve any disputes.

Logistics:

1. Coordinate logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
2. Ensure efficient and timely delivery of products to customers.
3. Manage import and export processes in Tanzania, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
4. Oversee customs clearance and documentation.

Financial Management:

1. Prepare and analyze financial reports to assess the performance of commercial activities.
2. Develop and implement cost-saving measures.
3. Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.

Regulatory Compliance:

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
2. Stay updated on changes in import and export regulations.

Team Management:

1. Lead and manage a team of commercial professionals
2. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training and training to team members
3. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

The ideal candidate for this role should have

1. Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field
2. Minimum 7 years of experience in a commercial management role.
3. Strong understanding of Tanzania’s import and export regulations and procedures.
4. Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management.
5. Experience in the chemical Industry .
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
8. Leadership and team management abilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., SAP S/4 Hana).
